Emulating Photographer

Biggest Challenge: The most challenging part was making my photos feel effortless and natural like Shore’s, even though I was very intentional behind the scenes. It’s harder than it seems to create an image that feels like a snapshot while also maintaining strong composition and clarity.
Looking Ahead: Going forward, I want to continue documenting ordinary moments and paying more attention to light and composition even in the most mundane settings. This assignment showed me that powerful photos can come from overlooked details, and that being present and observant is one of the most valuable skills a photographer can have.
Here's my comment:

I'm drawn to your lobster plate photograph because it effectively captures Stephen Shore's "everyday authenticity." The overhead shot and cluttered table setting create an actual, unposed moment that's both casual and intentional. Your composition is excellent the lobster naturally is a point of interest while surrounding details provide context.
The use of warm color tones of the lobster against the cooler surrounding elements creates visual tension, and the varied textures are depth-providing. Your selection of depth of field keeps the whole scene in focus, as is usual with Shore's documentary work. The exposure appears natural and not over-worked.
To develop future visions, I'd recommend trying out natural window light to maximize that effortless, caught moment feel Shore is able to…
I really like this photo it caught my eye right away. The lobster on the plate just feels super real and unfiltered, and the way everything’s kind of messy around it makes it feels like a raw moment. It doesn’t feel staged at all, which I think fits the photographer’s style really well. The colors look great too, especially the reds against the background. It’s one of those pictures thats simple but interesting If anything, I’d maybe be curious what it would look like if the shot was zoomed out a little more, just to see more of the setting like the inspo, but overall I think you did a great job!!!
